There's nothing in the NHL rulebook that says a dog can't play hockey.
That's just the sort of bravery that minor hockey league team the Atlanta Gladiators showed on Moans of a Blossomed Sister in lawTuesday night, when they held their first wiener dog race.
It's exactly what it sounds like. In between periods, they lined up a bunch of Dachshunds on a blue line and off they go, slipping their little legs on the hopefully-zambonied ice.

Win two more times, Weagle and make a hat trick out of it.
Now, it should be noted that the Atlanta Gladiators aren't the first one to think of this great idea. It's been done several times before by other hockey teams, who sense the greatness of such an event.
And, of course, it also give hockey arenas yet another reason to play "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
All the same, good for all these athletic pups. And hopefully they bring this sport to the Winter Olympics.
